So, now that we’ve established that we have the right — what do we do with it? If we have the power, how should we use it? That’s the part that needs a lengthier answer.

I know by now that breaking our immigration laws is a deep subject for you but it isn’t rocket science so I’ll try once more. This time, please pay attention: The subject under discussion is not immigration, it is illegal immigration. Your comment and your post at Blackfive implies that for the U.S. to secure its borders it must first hold remedial classes in civics 101 as well as decide the absolute final disposition of 13 million illegal aliens. That is incorrect. You are just as wrong as George Bush and his friends at Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Tyson Foods, ConAgra, the corrupt vegetable farmers of the San Joaquin Valley, and the corrupt tobacco, yam, and pickle farmers of North Carolina. All of those and more are regularly encouraged by the President to break U.S. immigration laws. — Just how cheap do you and Dubya want a head of lettuce? A pickle? A sweet potato?

I could make the correct points on this again but that would be redundant. Why not just read “Enforcement First” at NRO?

Its real simple for those interested in solving the problem. For the poseurs, its complicated.

My condolences to the Wriston family and friends. I agree with Larry Kudlow that Walt Wriston was "a truly good and great man." I worked for Wriston (under John Reed) in the early 1970s when he had just begun the monumental task of consolidating computer and back-office methods to support re-invented money exchange systems (ATMs, etc.).
